If you’re planning a trip to Grand Cayman, it’s a highly suggested that you allocate some of your budget to Grand Cayman Island car rental. Although the island itself may not seem large, the many attractions you’ll probably want to see can be very spread out. As such, you’ll be best served by having your own means of transportation.

As you prepare for your Grand Cayman rent a car, keep in mind that on the island, they drive on the other side of the road. This means the steering wheel is also going to be on the right, as opposed to those of us from countries where it’s on the left. Some agencies can provide you with a car that has been retrofitted for steering from the other side, but these are rare. If this is something you think you’d find useful, you’ll need to call ahead. Even then, keep in mind you still need to get used to driving on the left side of the road.

If you’re visiting Grand Cayman during their busier seasons, like the holidays, be sure to book your rental car far in advance. In fact, it’s best to do it as soon as you take care of your accommodations.

While Grand Cayman does have reliable public transit, you don’t want to waste valuable time waiting for it while you’re on vacation. Instead, opt to rent a car and take control of when you see the sites.
