Cooking doesn’t always have to feel like a chore. When done with family or friends, it can turn into one fun and intimate party. Cooking parties are fast becoming popular. It might have to do with a lot of cooking shows on TV that makes cooking seem easy. If you are thinking of having one yourself, here’s a guide on the basic things you’ll will need.

1. Decide whether you want to do it at home or at a place that has a big kitchen. This can be a cooking school or a restaurant that allows for outsiders to rent their space for a few hours. If you are inviting more than five people and have a decent sized kitchen, then doing it from home will work out fine. However, if it’s more of a special occasion like a bridal shower or a birthday and a lot of people are invited, then definitely go for a bigger place.

2. Think of an interesting theme and menu. These two should be related to each other. For example, you can choose an Indian themed night, therefore you will make Indian cuisine. You can make them wear Indian inspired clothing like a sari or a churidaar. Whatever it is, be creative!

3. Prepare all your supplies ahead of time. These include invitations, the things you will need for cooking such as pots and pans, the ingredients, and party favors. If you are having a more exotic themed party where you will cook an International dish, then it’s better to start shopping in advance since some of these ingredients will be harder to find.

4. Throw in some games. This would make your party double the fun. It can be a cooking battle between two groups or battle of the best food presentation.

Just remember, don’t take things too seriously. Enjoy the cooking process. Maybe open a wine or two. Cooking doesn’t have to stress you out. Have fun!
